About me
Based in Kent, I have been writing for many years, but am only now beginning to think of myself as an author.
My day job is as a nature reserves manager for a London-based utility company. Prior to this I worked in the presentations department of a London investment bank, and prior to that, I worked at a London-based
graphic design studio.
Other than some dreadful poetry in my teens and awful short stories in my early twenties, I really only began to write more seriously when I was doing a Masters degree (in Environmental Science; not in creative writing) as a mature student in my thirties.
My first ‘novel’ was dreadful, but, in my humble opinion, had a great title. With numerous abandoned writing projects between then and now, plus two questionable completed novels (see my writing journey here),
I finally wrote ‘A Pregnant Pause’ – a novel about a woman who, tired of her job, fakes a pregnancy in order to receive maternity leave.
A Pregnant Pause eBook is available here; the paperback will be available 12th February 2026.
