Taryn Kane
I am a debut author, living in Kent, England.
I was born and raised in London, and continue to work in south-east London.
I write voice-driven, commercial fiction, often with a darkly comedic edge; other times, just plain dark.
I like complicated, messy, female protagonists with questionable morals, and love to write ordinary people finding themselves in extraordinary circumstances. As with many authors, my favourite two words are ‘What if?’

A Pregnant Pause
My debut novel, ‘A Pregnant Pause’ is currently available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Blackwell’s, and from various other retailers.
It is about a woman who is so desperate to escape her soul-crushing job, that she concocts a wild plan that is as desperate as it is brilliant: she’ll fake a pregnancy for a year of paid maternity leave.
A Pregnant Pause will appeal to those that enjoy the heart and humour of Fleabag, the messy millennial protagonists of Queenie and Yellowface, and the spiky exterior of Martha in Sorrow and Bliss. And, well, it will appeal to anybody so desperate to escape their job, that they’d be willing to try just about anything!
